Francis Cheney LeBaron
Jan 27, 1930 ~ Apr 24, 2013
SAN JOSE, CA-Francis Cheney LeBaron was born in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada, the 4th of 10 children. His hands were held by family members as he passed away in the hospital.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Veda (Pilling), and their eight children: Debbie (Dave), Brian (Michelle), Karen (John), Mark (Debi), Linda (Carl), Brenda (Randy), Judy (Kerry), and Gary (Patti). He cherished each of his 42 grandchildren and their spouses, and his 28 great-grandchildren.
Francis served a mission in Australia for the Mormon Church. He graduated with a BS degree in Animal Husbandry from BYU, and a Master's in Agronomy from Utah State. After graduation he was drafted into the Army at the USEUR in Heidelberg, Germany and served as a military policeman.
Francis moved his family to San Jose in 1966 to work for the USP Cannery. After it closed, he opened a health food/survival store in 1970. With great passion and dedication he and Veda ran The Beehive Country Store until 2003, at which time they retired and sold the business to his daughter to work on his research of Dr. Francis LeBaron coming to America from France, a book that will be published this year.
Francis' energetic personality kept him involved in church activities, poetry, traveling, research, photography, gardening, and creating fun family memories!
Please wear colorful clothing to his service in memory of his zest for life and love of nature.

My Trip to the St. George Temple
MY TRIP TO THE ST. GEORGE TEMPLE 1897: Samuel Joseph Johnson, Grandson to BFJ
I was married to Cora May Allred, in the fall of 1896, on September 30. We were married by my grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Johnson. Our first son, Joseph Elbert, was born in Nephi, Arizona, July 31,1897.
There were several people planning to take a trip to the St. George Temple in August. I was very desirous to go to the House of the Lord so I commenced saving and planning also.
I started out in the early spring to work on the threshing machines. After putting in seventy days in the harvest fields, the time for leaving on the trip was drawing near, so I began to inquire of those who had made the trip before, how much it would cost me. They said that it would cost $125. After checking my tithing, I found that I only had $70 left. Sunday morning the Bishop asked me if I was going with the company. I told the Bishop that if I payed my tithing, I would not have enough money left to go.

Family History Corrections
New Corrections Added - Please click the "Read More" button for more details.
The Benjamin Franklin Johnson Family Genealogical Research Committee (hereafter called the JGRC) is currently involved in a project to document as much of the information on the family group sheets of Ezekiel and Julia Hills Johnson and their ancestors as possible. As we have worked on this, some of the mistakes in our classic family books and documents have come to our attention. Writing accurate family history (even our own) is very challenging because of missing or conflicting information or our own very human assumptions, misremembering, and mistakes. Sometimes misinformation from a simple typo can be eternally perpetuated, especially in our electronic age.
While we do not expect that we will ever have completely error-free information, we want family members to have access to the most accurate information available; so we are listing our findings below, and invite you to use it to correct your own genealogical records. We also invite you to submit any additional corrections for inaccurate information of which you are aware. We will update this page as new information is received.
Please click here to see a list of the research we need to get done! We are looking for more help!
